Hi, I’m Sydney, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with Balance and Bloom Therapy! I offer virtual therapy to teens, adults, couples, and families across California. I specialize in eating disorders and body image, trauma, anxiety, ADHD, and supporting the LGBTQIA+ community as they explore and live as their most authentic selves. I’m EMDR trained, and my work blends attachment-based, psychodynamic, parts work, and person-centered approaches.

I believe so much of good therapy comes down to the relationship between you and your therapist. Before any technique, tool, or skill, healing happens when you feel safe, seen, and understood. That’s why I value showing up as a real, down-to-earth human in the room, direct but always compassionate.

I know what it’s like to be on the other side of the couch. I’ve spent many years in my own therapy and have been through treatment centers and higher levels of care myself, so I understand how scary and vulnerable it can be to ask for help and then actually let someone in. That experience shapes the compassion and curiosity I bring to every person I work with.

Therapy should be a place where you can show up as your authentic self, messy, vulnerable, and imperfect parts included, and be met with warmth, support, and zero judgment. I’ll work alongside you as you make sense of what you’ve been through, explore the patterns that are keeping you stuck, and move toward a life that feels like yours.

You don’t need to have it all figured out to start. Come as you are, and we’ll go from there.

I’m Jacqueline Johnson, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at Balance and Bloom Therapy. I work with adults, adolescents, and couples navigating trauma, relationship challenges, anxiety, and life transitions, with a special focus on supporting neurodivergent individuals and couples. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and empowering, drawing from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

I believe we can become so accustomed to surviving, meeting expectations, and caring for others that we lose touch with our own voice. Therapy offers space to rediscover that voice—to understand what has shaped you, decide what you want to carry forward, and create new paths that feel true to who you are.

Together, we can build skills to navigate difficult emotions, explore patterns that leave you feeling stuck, and nurture more meaningful relationships with yourself and others. With couples, I help partners understand the emotions beneath recurring conflict and move toward greater safety, understanding, and connection.

I value the many identities and experiences that shape our lives and offer a culturally responsive, neurodiversity-affirming space for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people of all backgrounds. You deserve a space where your story is honored, your voice is heard, and you feel free to be yourself.

I bring warmth, honesty, curiosity, and humor into our work. You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin. My role is to walk alongside you as you reconnect with your strengths and build a life that makes room for your needs, your values, and your possibilities.

I’m glad you’re here, and I look forward to getting to know you.
